What about the “under God” part? Don’t tell me he’s one of those…

He left out “to the flag of the United States of America” as well.

Love the not-so-subtle reference to the secessionists

For those too lazy to, y’know, like, actually look it up or something, those are the exact original words of the Pledge, as written in 1891 as a publicity stunt for “Youth’s Companion” magazine, which was selling flags as a sideline at the time. It was revised four or five times over the years, the last part, the addition of “under God”, in 1954, theoretically as a reminder that we were fighting the "Godless commies”, but really as a way to de-emphasize and generally castrate the “one nation, indivisible” part, to make the Ku Klux Klan happy.

The history is likely valid. The current emphasis is on indivisible. We stand together.Secessionists are distracting, keeping the government from getting on with more important issues.

Funny, “take my ball and go home” exactly the mentality of Algore after he lost to GW. And with the exception of the whole seccessionist thing, that is the attitude of most Demoncrats after that election as well. In fact, they are still beyatching about it today. I can remember when people fought it out during an election, civily of course, and when the election was over, they moved on. The problem is that everyone is too selfish to do that now. They take it far to personally when their candidate loses. The election is over. Deal with it. But remember, those that voted for Obama will only have themselves to blame for the consequences of their actions.
