Actually, russ, I think politicians have shown that they could not care less about the citizenry, to whom they pay lip service for six weeks prior to every election. Alan Keyes hit it on the head when he said the day “politician” became a career choice is the day we lost the republic.
I’m reminded of a Leno gag where he said he didn’t favor term limits for politicians; he believed they should serve the entire sentence, no limits, no time off for good behavior…
Fire them? We just keep re-electing them! In my state every single incumbant was re-elected! People keeps saying ’we need new people in Washington" but keep voting the same way.
