“it’s arithmetic” – GT has Clinton reprising a memorable line from his convention speech from a couple months ago… interesting to see where this is going.

Ever wonder why Big Dawg campaigned so hard for Bronco? Ever wonder why Hillary’s been so quiet during the last months of Bronco’s campaign for reelection — not wanting to upstage da Prez in the slightest detail? Ever wonder why Secretary-of-State Clinton stepped aside and let her subordinate Susan Rice take the fall for Hillary’s Benghazi debacle?

It couldn’t be cuz a deal’s been struck! Or could it?

So cutting NASA’s budget is a victory for science? And adding another trillion or two to the debt is a victory for math? George Orwell has nothing on the Dems when it comes to doublespeak.

We had a surplus when Clinton left. Then we got W. W screwed us, big time. So now the GOP would like us to believe that the huge debt just fell out of the sky. Investments must be made in order to dig our way out. The prez knows that, as does Hillary.

Very true. Not only that, but she said she is tired and wants to do nothing for awhile. That’s not the language of someone who is prepping for a bid the next time around. But who knows?

I’m bipolar, hence, the slight emotional extremism of the following NON-political remarks. (Y’all do so well in your comments/arguments/and other displays of…. um… intelligence/stupidity. I thought something “artistic” might be a pleasant change…)

Imagine my initial euphoria at finally seeing Mike D. himself in all 4 panels of the comic strip! Woot! Imagine my crash into despair at looking more closely. Daa-um! Is there a different artist doing these strips? ‘Cause this most definitely doesn’t look like my main man Doonesbury. I know he’s supposed to look older, but the illos still don’t look much like him. Foo. Anybody know what’s going on w/the fate &/or ook of the strip? Has Trudeau handed it over to someone else?

All you Hillary watchers might consider these data from Wikipedia: “The median age of accession [to the presidency] is roughly 54 years and 11 months, which falls between Herbert Hoover (22nd youngest) and Lyndon B. Johnson (23rd). The youngest person to assume office was Theodore Roosevelt (age 42), who became president following William McKinley’s assassination. The youngest president elected to office was John F. Kennedy (age 43 years, 236 days). The oldest president to assume office was Ronald Reagan (age 69 years, 349 days).”

Does Hillary really WANT to be not only the first woman president but the OLDEST at accession? I can’t guess, myself—but it beats me why any of the commenters to this strip (who also do not know her) think they are prepared to speak for her. One true thing about trying to put yourself in another’s shoes, is that you can never imagine what it is to be older than you are.

Being a fundamentalist Christian, I believe in the word “day” referring to the era of creation not 24 hours, simply because the Bible says “the evening and the morning were the first day” meaning that was 24 hours sooo…I believe the dinosaurs died with Eden. Simply because the Bible clearly says the “serpent” was a dragon (rev) and that he was made to crawl in the dust. I resent the term “fundamentalist” being appropriated by folks who can’t read the Bible they often thump. I believe humanity is lost and needs to accept Christ to begin finding itself and that journey is only partially complete in this life. We don’t, lib, con, Christian, atheist, have ALL the answers. When we dig in our heels and say we know this or that form sure, God will have his laugh. And progress, ours and societies stops.I voted O over R and I haven’t gone to church since because I don’t want to have to explain why. It would hurt some folks. I also realize i should have spoken more lightly here of my voting, See? growing every day. : )

The GOP (Greedy Old Patricians) are stuck with the Tea Party. Accordingly, in four years they’ll nominate a rightwinger. Rmoney was a fake rightwinger (reichwinger?). They’ll nominate a true rightwinger, maybe Paul Ryan who they nominated to be Veep.

Bronco’s convincing election demonstrated that rightwingers, fake or true, can’t win if the Demo’s get their “ground game” going.

For the DEMs, at this point, Hillary’s the only convincing choice. Barring another upstart. Bronco was an upstart who surged ahead of Hillary and won the DEM nom four years ago. Never again! Big Dawg’ll bite you if you try to pull that stunt again!

Hence, I predict that Hillary will be the next DEM nom and the next President.

It ain’t even fancy math. It is more basic. It is as Chris Matthews and Rachel Maddow say. It is simple arithmetic.

Nobody can predict four years into the future. For example, Hillary could have a heart attack, or get breast cancer — heaven forfend — and be taken out of the equation. But as of now, the arithmetic seems pretty simple.
