Clayton; Do you have to get good grades to be a lawyer? Adam; Doesn't matter. No child of mine is going to tarnish the family name by becoming a lawyer. Clayton; Why? Lawyers make lots of money. Adam; They are a scourge on our legal system. It's all one big fixed system. Meant to line the pockets of backslapping attorneys. Clayton; Backslapping? Lined pockets? Sounds good to me.

Justice is prioritized somewhere down the line after lawyers’ compensation. The amount of money is takes to defend oneself or protect oneself is absurd.

Ouch. I hope Adam never needs a lawyer for anything. Can’t imagine a world without them. Especially if you’re accused for a crime you didn’t commit. Good luck going up against the State with no legal education.

1. All lawyers are jerks, except your own.2. Mean income for lawyers is $45,000 annually, $35,000 on the low end to about $60,000 on the high end. Not as much as one might think. Finally, not defending lawyers, just I hate to see any group unfairly maligned, even lawyers.

@Jeff0811:
Thought your figures sounded too low so I checked. Turns out the median salary for attorneys in the US is closer to $110,000. Check this out:

With all those multi-million dollar jury awards/settlements, there’s a heap of senior partners at law firms bringing in 7 figure annual salaries.
