On the other hand, the Ten Commandments, or the short form of the Commandments of love, express the truth that God still wants certain forms of behavior from us—not so much to earn salvation, but for our own good. So, within the culturally conditioned laws there is a kernel of eternally valid laws.

We are ALL chosen. That was what the sacrifice was for. We have to choose to accept the gift. So, yes, we BOTH are.
