The Shatner ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’ is famous. He did it on his LP THE TRANSFORMED MAN, which became a legend in bad recordings. But I found one that may be worse. Sebastion Cabot, Mr. French from FAMILY AFFAIR, did an entire album of Dylan, and it is horrendously awful. You can laugh at it for awhile, then it starts to hurt too much.
I like Dylan, but the Cabot album is atrocious. He attempts to ‘act’ the songs rather than sing them. The first selection is “who Killed Davy Moore,” and I couldn’t believe it had been allowed to happen.
It made me extremely sad to see Takei on an Old Navy commercial the other day…oh, how the mighty have fallen. (I don’t know though; maybe he really likes their skinny jeans and cheap flip flops!)
Much as I have enjoyed Takei’s acting, nothing is horrendous as the PSAs that he and Patty Duke did for Social Security. Look them up on the Social Security website if you dare.http://www.ssa.gov/pressoffice/psa-video.html
@ursen1I don’t need to look it up. I had to go to the SS office one day and saw it there. That was Patty Duke? Didn’t recognize her. But then I didn’t really pay attention either. I lost all respect of Takei when he lambasted and cursed Shatner in public. That sort of thing should have been done in private and in a more civilized manner. On the flip side, Walter Koenig did tell Shatner on his show, what he thought of him and it was in a nice, civilized manner. Shatner even apologized to him. I’ll take Koenig over Takei any day.
I could’ve met Patty Duke, but she was people shy. She and John Astin, still married at the time, were in a play at the Corning Summer Theatre, where my Grandmother did the costumes. Astin was cool. He hung out backstage and I got to chat with him, but P. Duke stayed in the dressing room.

Ah, the hatin’ on Shatner just goes on and on.

Yeah, Shatner is almost comedic these days. Takei creeps me out.

Honestly, I was never that fond of Bob Dylan doing Bob Dylan. The thought of a Shatner cover gives me the willies!

Kathy! My soul-sister! How can you even mull this over without having Randall Munroe’s name in the list?! He combines the best of them.
