Duke: We've been over this, Trff! I'm not hosting your putsch planning ops! I don't want to find an IED in my mailbox! And by the way, your co-conspirators look pretty sketchy to me. Don't be surprised if they flip on you! Trff: What are you on about? My followers are fiercely loyal! Duke: If you say so. Just throwing it out there. Trff? These men would die for me! Cronie 1: (Whoa. How's that?) Cronie 2: (Back up, boss.)

Nothing like team loyalty. Kind of like a group of political operatives during a campaign.

It’s pretty sad when you can trust Duke more than your own followers.

I like the way he handled the foreign language by putting it in parentheses.

“Is it possible that Duke is finally growing a conscience????”
If it is possible that a Vegas slot machine can grow a conscience, then yes.

Duke said it himself: it’s only the IED in the mailbox that he’s concerned about. Right or wrong is not relevant.

One thing that’s never been explained to me sufficiently: Why is Trff still rooming with Duke? Heck, Duke has never hesitated in throwing people overboard before. Even if by some miracle Trff were to get back his Swiss bank accounts money, Trff doesn’t seem to me to be the grateful type. I really can’t see any advantage for Duke to keep this loser around, so what’s going on?

I wonder if GT turn the story line back to Toggle soon? He has an opening after the disastrous turn of events in the US Senate yesterday. What a shameful display. Bob Dole in a wheelchair lobbying for a Disabled Veterans Treaty, 38 Republicans marched right past him and voted against it. What an outrage! Only 61 Senators voted for it. You can pass almost anything in the US Senate with 60 votes, but not a treaty. It would seem there are much more things which require 60 votes than there used to be and unfortunately, this nonpartisan issue was not supported by 38 Republicans, so it didn’t pass. It has not been always and forever that the US Senate required a super majority for so many things. This is another reform that needs to take place in the Senate, aside from the filibuster reform which is also badly needed.

“I don’t think Trff is staying with Duke full time. Didn’t Duke say something about them coming over to watch the Berzerkistan Soccer team in action?”
Duke told Trff in yesterday’s strip that he could have his pals over, not that he Trff could come over to watch soccer on satellite TV. Implication: Trff IS staying with Duke full time. Reason: Duke has plans for him. What plans: We don’t know yet, but maybe to reinstall Trff as dictator of Berzerkistan — if the CIA agrees to fund and to perform. (Duke has CIA connections.) Result: A HUGE volume of taxpayer-funded $$$$$ flows into Duke’s Swiss (or Cayman) coffers.
DylanThomas3.14159 almost 12 years ago
Duke could argue to his CIA connections that it is in the U.S. national interest to maintain a dictator in one of the ’Stans. If so, Trudeau would be making the satirical point that the U.S. government DOES DO DAMAGE in the world. (As did the ancient Roman empire.) In the name of national interest.

Why should Republican senators vote for disabled vets? They got what they wanted out of them, its their own fault that they didn’t have the common sense to die. Why would they want to help them? It is not like they will be CEOs or big money men on wall street.
DylanThomas3.14159 almost 12 years ago
The ONLY solution. Vote the Pubs outta the House in 2014. And vote enough outta the Senate to give the Dems 60+ seats.

Now we have the [Breaking News] that Murdoch and Ailes sent a minion to visit Gen. Petraeus (before his posting to the spook-shop, where he couldn’t give speeches), and offer him the Presidency, since they couldn’t see a viable candidate in the pack. Just heard excerpts of the tape. (Film at Eleven? Not likely!)
