Bucky: Satchmo, how would you like to be part of another focus group? Satchel: I'd like to be a part of any group, yeah. See, I've been feeling unapprecia- Bucky: Yeah, yeah, whatever. Ok, I'll read you the tagline of a movie and you tell me if you'd see it. Two village idiots travel the entire 27-mile width of England fighting evil just to find the owner of a lost glove in... Dumb and Dumbleton! Satchel: Ha ha! I thought you were gonna say dumb and dumbledore! Bucky: Satchel, focus! I asked... Oh, that is more marketable, isn't it?

Dragnet fans? Really? Cute pun, but still….

My favorite episodes of Dragnet were the ones where they encountered hippies…Always great! They were really funny when you were high…

“Dragnet”?I find it difficult to think that y’all are referring to the RADIO program of the late FORTIES.I must’ve missed something more recent, eh?

I still think the pictures elicited by radio were better than on TV. Since Joe Friday was sponsored by Fatima, I could smell the smoke on his jacket…or was that my dad’s jacket? And the commercials: I was allowed to delay my bedtime long enough to hear the Carribean-influenced Mazola song (which was full of animated yellows and reds).Yup. AM radio broadcast in full-color, 3-D and OE (Olfactory Effect).

Maybe it was 27 miles to where the guy dropped his glove. BTW, when did England change from kilometers to miles for distance?

Finding that this strip has been rather one dimensional lately. Movies over and over and over. Getting very bored.

rshive, we’ve never done km in England — we’re still getting to grips with decimal currency!

Exactly what I was thinking, in fact I was getting ready to post the next sentence when I glanced up and read yours. I’m getting tired of this movie thing, way too much thinking, I need some entertainment!

rshive and Kasper: There’s a great line in an Inspector Frost episode where someone gives Frost driving directions in kilometers and he asks, “How much is that in old money.” Love the series with David Jason as the curmudgeony Jack Frost.

Starting to get boring…

Starting to? Isn’t this like the 50th stupid British town pun strip? I’m getting close to removing this strip from my reader…
