Hah! Take him to the emergency room for that? At most, I’d go to one of the walk-in clinics that are so popular these days. Cheaper and better service. But for a finger, it certainly CAN wait till morning. We’ve had so many broken bones among our kids (all at school or sports) that we know the drill pretty well.On a separate issue – why on earth would he have to sleep on the sofa for saying what he thinks? It’s his house, too. If she wants the kid taken to the emergency room, she can take him herself. Geez.

Besides, the only thing they’re likely to do is give you one of those finger splints you can already buy in the drug stores yourself. A broken finger isn’t the end of the world. And if you break a toe it’s even less treatment; all they’ll do is buddy-tape your broken toe to one of your good ones. I’ve broken enough toes to know that.
