Danae: 'Tis the day before Christmas, and I'm getting more cranky and sour. As the boredom gets worse with every slow-passing hour. I've got to wait 'til tomorrow to open the gifts that are mine, but time just crawls along slowly no matter how much I whine. This is the season for giving, at least that's what they say, but I have to wait to receive, for another whole stinkin' day! Lucy: If you feel an earth tremor, that'll be Clement Moore spinning in his grave. Danae: Whatever...

I have to wait an extra hour for these comic strips because of daylight savings. The wait kills me.

Does she ever give anyone else any gifts? Or just expect them all to be given to her. Just curious.

Both Moore and Henry Livingston have connections to the Mid Hudson Valley of New York. Livingston lived in Poughkeepsie, while Moore used to spend a lot of time with friends (the Bard family) just north of Poughkeepsie. The Bards and Livingstons were also friends. Interestingly, while doing some research, I found a letter from one of the Bards noting how Moore used to read the poem to their kids well before it was published. Of course, the letter was written after the poem was published, so who knows how accurate it is?

or, you could travel to japan, australia, new zealand, tahiti, where it is 12/25/12. that is the jet set rich people do, they have 2-4 xmases. they start where it is 12/25 and move westward,

Not sure why, but I think the punch line would have been funnier if the horse said: “… Clayton Moore spinning in his grave.” Google it if you’re drawing a blank here!

..sometimes a classic will appear from no where..ie Sniff And The Tears’ ,Driver’s Seat…and never ever be repeated…Moore could have done it…

I don’t care who may be spinning in their grave – I loved the poem. @NightShade09 – loved yours too and would like to hear the rest.Merry Christmas Eve. One more day Danae. You can do it!
JanLC about 12 years ago
Haven’t you heard? Clement Moore stole that poem from another author.

Heck, poetry that bad would make CLAYTON Moore spin in his grave. (Who was that masked zombie?)

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, I never saw anything, like this ungrateful louse. She cares not for others, No, just for her own private greed, and fails to see that others have more pressing needs. I’m glad that my children do’t act in this way, or there’s be nothing ’neath the tree, come bright Christmas day.

I live where DST is observed….so I’m waiting for tomaarow’s strip….my only comment on this strip would be something my sister once said to her daughter who was almost as bad as Danae “I hope when you grow up you have daughters JUST like you are today.” The rest of this story is it did happen, my niece is now 40 and her daughters (there are three of them, are all just like she was.
