Seriously, what’s the difference between 25¢ Canadian and 25¢ US?

The ½¢ difference is I needed to know. Thanks. (Sooner or later, the Canadian [and UK as well as other Commonwealth currencies] will change to Charles or William.)

Stupid, no. Could be putting their time to better use, probably.

I never got over the Canadian dime I got that could be picked up with a magnet…

As long as it’s okay if Elly is “a little sloppy around the middle” too, that’s fine.

We used to play one of those games (Commotion) after we got off work – in 1977!

When I moved to Canada from Michigan in 2008 the one thing I noticed right away was how much shinier Canadian coins are than U.S. ones. But I prefer dollar bills to loonies and toonies that make your purse heavier.

It used to be the eagle, anyway. It has been one state or territory on the reverse side for many years now.

He’s not necessarily poor, just out of coins.

Do you think it reminds people how old these strips are to see them playing a video game from the last century? I thought Lynn said she was going to try and keep the old stuff kind of updated and fresh.

FYI: Those “steel” pennies are actually zinc.

I got a kick out of a table top arcade game; haven’t seen one of those in a long time.

If this strip came with sound, we would hear the Peter Gunn theme as Ted is playing Spy Hunter!

I wonder if the Angry Video Game Nerd has bought the framed and autographed version of this strip.

Doctors have now suggested that gaming is beneficial. Physically, it helps to keep eyesight strong for gamers of all ages. Also, as with smoking tobacco, gaming can help to offset Parkinson’s. Mentally it can help people solve problems, as do games like chess.

It was a big deal at the time the original strip was made that the video game Dragon’s Lair debuted. It required two quarters to operate! Today that arcade game is one of the only three games to be preserved in the Smithsonian Institution.
