But the popular concept was/is that Richthofen was somewhat supreme and invincible.Hmm, funny how Snoopy can encounter the RB so often, when others would seek and never find him.
On a more pertinent topic, this strip has more modern color than the original — the subtle gradations of the clouds, for example, are not how the strip looked when it first ran in ancient times when I first saw it. How do we feel about this? I have to say my feelings are mixed. And my favorite aircraft is still the Goon. C-130’s a close second.
.Ironically, when this comic was published it was believed that Charlie Brown’s Canadian grandfather, Arthur “Roy” Brown had shot down Richtofen. Now it is believed that Australian infantry shot him down

Wow. Snoopy has quite an imagination. Before reading the last panel, I thought he burnt something inside his house. Haha

I am sorry, but the Red Baron was shot down and killed on April 21, 1918, and World War I ended on November 11, 1918. Do look it up if you doubt me.
However, he was indeed killed near the end of the war itself, just not at the exact last day of the war.

Not unlike Elmer Fudd hunting “Wabbits”; each time he gets outsmarted by Bugs… it’s, “I hate Wabbits”.
Or was that Yosemite Sam? “I hate Rabbits.”

Silly! All fighter pilots were opportunist, at least the ones who survived. Read a little history for god’s sake!

Looks like you have an enemy, Snoopy.
But in my opinion… Lucy will always be your MAIN enemy.

How does he explain the bullet holes in his dog house to Charlie Brown is something I have always wondered.

The Camel is still my favorite aircraft today. This strip got me interested in it. The C-130 is a close second though.
