Enlarged image can be found at Mr. Melcher’s blog entry. The Carpenter’s Shop in Nazareth (AKA The Christ Child as a Carpenter, source and Wikipedia links) is described by its current-location page (the source of the enlarged image). An online book claims the artist was Mexican. The current-location page says it was painted in Boliva. This says Bolivia, Alto Peru (Google translated Spanish Wikipedia page has more).Fifth of the at least 16 works with no attribution, that have, so far, appeared in Mr. Melcher’s blog, to also appear here. This and at least one more (hasn’t yet appeared here, need the caption to find it) were found in prior searches, but for whatever reason, are no longer in the list.

Now we know where they got the idea for the “Elves and the Shoemaker” from, though: “The Carpenter and the Angels.”
“Joseph, your work has become outstanding ever since your son joined the business!”“Oh, that’s because the angels come out at night and help us!”“Really? That’s…um..something. Oh, I’ve gotta go…uh, for that..uh, thing! ‘Bye!’
