For some reason the running gag in “Sleeper” comes to mind. Only there, it was just a nose that was lost…

Maybe she could use a Bowlin’ ball as a temporary substitute untill they find it?

I am so sorry to quibble, but wouldn’t ERI’s pet name have been “Bess” – as in “Good Queen …”? :-)

ChapeauNoir: Liz was going to be a one-shot, just the woman who took Victoria to speed dating, but I kept her on. Since I didn’t expect to use her again, and I thought “Liz” was funnier, “Liz” it stayed.

Just curious (maybe the answer’s been posted before and I missed it) - how come Her Maj is the only queen to use the royal we?

Pab: Aha, I see. Yes, Liz is funnier and since I’m a recent acquaintance, aren’t familiar with her previous roles here.

I mean “am not familiar.” Sheesh, this “we” thing is contagious!

kfaatz925 - you want consistency? From a strip with Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth, George III, Osama bin Laden, and the Virgin Mary appearing together? Personally, I think Vic’s just the most formal.

kfaatz925: It makes Vic stand out more. Besides, she’s more famous for the “we are not amused quote” than the others.

In fact, Good Queen Bess used the first person singular quite often in her poetry (ex. “When I was fair and young, and favor grace’d me…”) and her speeches, at least as history has recorded them. (“I know I have but the body of a weak and feeble woman; but I have the heart of a king, and of a king of England, too!”)
