And that’s encouraging?! (The pet in my Grade 2 and 3 class {same teacher} was also a tarantula; there’s even a picture of me holding it with arm stretched out with a scared-looking face.)

That certainly puts things into perspective.

My brother-in-law had a tarantula when they were first engaged….then she cleaned and vacuumed…no more tarantula!

I would’ve flat refused to have any class pet in my house. Period. Unless it was a cat of course. Then they may not get it back.

Classroom pets are not allowed in our school system, and haven’t been for lots of years. Something about germs and stuff. Animal to kid…not kid to animal…I think.

Agreed. Then again, John and Elly should have told Michael, we did not fool around with the hamster, you did. We are not in your class, so we were not assigned the hamster. Therefore, you are one to go find him, get going!

Michael is sleeping and is very upset he couldn’t find the hamster. Plus it is too late for him to be up. Looks like a huge dust bunny on the floor in panel 2. Get a vacuum cleaner hose and clamp a nylon stocking on the end. Maybe they can suck up the hamster to the end of the hose if John can’t reach it. :)
