Neither do I, thankfully! And, I don’t usually question intelligent-parenting, and that this is a strip, but, WTH was Ellie thinking leaving those things on the floor, when she has small children and a dog?
Oh fer cryin’ out loud, all parents would be perfect if they just followed the advice here, especially from the people who don’t have any kids. Scratch that, all *mothers"….
I quickly trained my kids that my models were my toys and they wouldn’t want me to break their toys playing with them. Never had a problem, but the daughter became a good modeler and model judge herself.
Thanks, Slywlf. Very interesting. I miss her original strips as well. I missed these early ones because our paper picked her up later, when the older kids were teens. Then she had the late-in-life baby.

She left them on the floor? That was dumb.

and thus we remember the phrase “Keep Out of the Reach of Children” no longer applies to just medication. Especially with a toddler in the house!

She still should’ve had enough sense to put them in another room and close the door on Lizzie and the dog.

Susan, don’t project what isn’t there. The comic strip ends with a punch line. Elly isn’t real. She cannot do what Lynn has not written.

And again, you have a way of projecting your mother’s mistakes on to Elly.

She’s been a mom long enough to know not to do that. A parent learns with the first child, the first pet!
