This is the first time we’ve seen Lizz in a weekday strip in 110 days (since 9/27/2012). She did appear in the background of one panel on Sunday, January 6, but that’s been it. Nice to see her again!

Also, it looks like Lizz got a haircut since January 6. I liked the longer look myself.

At least now it’s a “research dig” and not just a bunch of reckless treasure-hunters! But Prof. Hinkley, who has aged a bit since his ship-wrecked days, better have a good reason for calling in the cops—and not just the cops, but the Chief of Detectives/head of the MCU!

nice way to write out lizz and sam for 8 weeks and focus on the story at hand. wonder if fritz ann is gonna be giving some speeches at the academy, tho with her track record of tracking down blackjack i dont think she is one to be giving lectures lol! i wonder… since blackjack is free again (well, TECHNICALLY he escaped lol) will we be seeing fritz ann again? also, a curious comment form months ago in the yahoo group, mike stated that blackjack will show up again (and he did) and he ALSO said that doubleup would make a comeback (which he hasnt yet) so i wonder…. could doubleup and blackjack be the startings of a new “Mr Crime Gang”? along with stiletta (who mike also said would be coming back) and retik and whatshername that are assistingmoon maid, tracy has more than a few sleepless nights ahead of him i am sure. throw in that honeymoon is STILL gonna try and find her mom and things get even MORE interesting!

It’s time to do something about that disgusting smoking habit of Sam’s…. A chemical fire extinguisher, or better yet, high-powered fire hose might do the trick!

The professor looks like Doc off of the old Gunsmoke series.

Perhaps the professor will find out what’s inside the case by building an MRI out of coconuts.

When is Pat going to quit smoking?

I wonder if Liz is related to Aunt Fritzie?

I see Sam’s smoking has come up again. I know we have discussed this before. My vote would be to have him decide to quit, and have his team mates at the MCU support him as he struggles with it.Sure, he’s only a comic strip character. But Dick Tracy is (for the most part, anyway) a “real-life” strip, not a goofy cartoon. The characters are exaggerated, but they have families and backgrounds and life-like thoughts and emotions.Otto Baron mentioned nostalgia, but not everything from the past is good. Smoking causes so much misery, pain and hardship. And, Sam is such a strong character – much, much more than comic relief. He is loyal, dependable and has a dry humor about him. If he was my friend in real life, I’d surely want him to get rid of the smokes.Meanwhile, I hope he and Lizz will be back from their assignment at the academy before this new story is over.

First of all, it is not just your “beeswax” if you choose to smoke around other people; your smoking does affect them in many ways, none of them positive. Second, your attitude needs work; getting snotty and defensive does not reflect well on you. Third, I used to smoke, so I am speaking from experience on the effects on others.

As long as we’re naming names on Gilligan’s Island, the Skipper’s name was Jonas Grumby.

Since we have seen Roy Hinkley….I wonder if Jonas Grumby is far behind…or is he still skiper of his ship. And for those who watched the reunion specials the Castaways finally left the island only to end up back on the island. In a second special, the Castaways were rescued and Mr. Howell bought the island and made it into a resort hotel (with the rest of the Castaways as silent partners). I think that the second special might have been a pilot for another series. A third special had the Harlem Globetrotters visit the Island.

I am drunk, but I haven’t touched a drop. To quote Scrooge, “I am as giddy as a schoolgirl.”

We saw Carole’s regular doctor, Dr. Greenwood this morning, and got good news and scary news.

Dr. Greenwood was very upset over reports from the hospital. They pursued the thought her meds were the cause of the Rhabdomylosis. As it turned out, the repeated falls Carole began the process, and I would usually have her lay down (which actually made it worse) Now we know what causes it and what we can do to prevent it.

The Scary news is that one of the doctors that talked to her didn’t expect her to make it.

We are delirious with joy, as she is getting better each day.

Silly me !I’ll just put a plug in ’is ass.Hmm.. I would just get some chickens and pigs instead and use their manure to produce methane, then run a diesel generator with it. That is, if I lived out in the country, which I don’t..

I think Sam, and all other smokers, should look into using the electric option. You still get your nicotine, so no withdrawal problems, but you don’t have any of those nasty carcinogens, and you can smoke them in public places, since they only emit orderless steam. You still get the feel of hot gas entering your mouth and throat, and you have even more flavors than actual cigarettes have. They also cost less once you have purchased one, the refills are extremely cheap. I have even seen sites on the web on building your own. An all around win as far as I can tell.

I wasn’t equating smoking directly with wife beating, simply using that as another example of something once tolerated by society, that is now justly considered to be wrong

Oh well, never too late to get the ball rolling: I think Mysta’s return is the most exciting development to hit Dick Tracy in 35 years (apart from Curtis and Staton taking over), and I can’t wait to start seeing her again every day. Who’s with me??
