auricle: Now that you mention it, “Blackadder II” does owe a lot to Commedia dell’Arte. The zanni (Baldrick and Percy), il Dottore (Melchett), Pantalone Bosognose (Blackadder), about all that is missing is la inammorati.
Although I’ll lay even money that in the original Commedia, Pantalone never yelled “Arlecchino! Have you been eating dung again?!”
oldlegodad: I’ll say the same thing I always say. “Wait until Monday, everything changes then.” I don’t like to stretch stories more than a week, and this is the most dialogue-laden the strip ever gets.
The dialogue in the first 3 pairs of panels is secondary to the gag in the last panel, having no humor value of its own, so if you can’t read it, relax.

Isn’t he supposed to bang on the upper panel with that staff?

A cunning plan? Sounds like Baldrick.

Good news: Stunning originality!
Bad news: Could you make them smaller and harder to read?

Have you noticed the small button above the strip, kind of between the third and fourth panel, that says “View Larger”? That works well.
