Phil reminds me now of Van Johnson, and Fritzi currently bears a striking resemblance to Esther Williams. Van Johnson and Esther Williams. Of course, all of the movies with Van and Esther in them always ended with a happily ever after. I am looking forward to some major Valentines Days strips. Years ago – back in the 50s, someone gave me a Valentine card which featured Nancy and Sluggo, explaining the history of how St. Valentine’s Day came to be. This is truly beautiful. I really appreciate the return of Phil and his reunions with Fritzi, Nancy and Sluggo.

Why does Phil’s sweatshirt say “FAIL” on the front of it?

Sluggo knows how to handle bullies. He saved Nancy from one in his first appearance.

I am enjoying Nancy as I haven’t in years. Love the new story line. (I always felt sorry for Sluggo having a coat with patches.) Keep it up!

Thank you for aunt fritzi finally having a serious relationship, and for someone caring for sluggo. It’s time for sluggo to have a real home and not that hovel he’s lived in for decades. I’ve been reading nancy for over 55 years. Ernie would be proud that you’ve kept it clean and entertaining. I’m waiting for the new man in fritzi’s life to adopt sluggo and have him move in with him.

At last he has a new coat! I was tired of seeing Sluggo in that ragged patch quilt.

I always wonder where are sluggo’s parents? He always seems alone at home and ends up at Nancy’s to eat.

I’ve always thought sluggo was an orphan when the strip first came out. I could be wrong. I’ve never seen any adult in his life except for fritzi.

We won’t recognize Sluggo without his patched up coat. He’s been wearing it for 60 years!

What a great story line this has become…only thing that would have made it better would be if it was a coat of many colors. Kudos Guy!!
