    this was always a major humiliation for the non athletic type batter that the other team didnt fear…. and then both the infield and the outfield would be in so close for that expected weak hit . What was so satisfying were those rare rare occasions that he/she would someow get a hold of one and put it over their surprised heads….. of course it didnt happen often…..but even once was nice.

    nighthawks I remember those time well as a kid. Also happened a lot when we played mixed softball, but not all the women were pushovers or “easy outs”
