    Helmets are for batters (and hockey and football players). Pitchers and the other “defenders” wear caps.

    A chaw of tobacco beats a bat in hand.

    This pitcher thought I was seeing his girlfriend. He kept brushing me off the plate. The third pitch sailed over my head. I charged the mound, bat in hand, but he spit some chew right in my eyes. It was quite disabling.

    BTW, I was not seeing his girlfriend.

    Perhaps the pitcher should wear full body armour…but then that would make it a little hard to pitch…unless he’s got a really good spit ball.
