Like my son in history, the comprimise of 1820(?) and the kansas-nebraska act(?) and things like that of which started the civil war. (or he says at least)
Selfish, eh? Hark who’s talking. And notice how Calvin took care to say “WHEN we win,” not “IF we win.” I admire confidence, but man, if Calvin had any more hot air, he’d up and float away.
How delusional are you ?Wanna bet Madoff was a Republican ?How about all the Investment Bankers that got “theirs” (ie: everybody else’s) and have yet to spend a day in Jail. As for Bush, he “deregulated” the economy into its’ current state, BECAUSE IT WAS TOO DAMN MUCH TROUBLE TO SEE THAT THERE WAS A LEVEL PLAYING FIELD !
No, Calvin, that’s a bad compromise. See how incensed many of the commentators are? A good compromise finds a way to give everyone the majority of what he or she wants.
Stick a fork in me . . . I’m completely DONE reading all the comments posted here from now on with one exception: anything I see written from HOBBES!!!!! I’m sick and tired of all the political crap talk on a non-political comic and having what used to be a fun place to hang out pretty much ruined for me every damn day I come here. It used to be just Omnius doing it (which was easy to simply skip over) but now, more and more people are starting to join in with THEIR own political comments and I’ve decided that I just can’t — nor am I going to — take it anymore (for which I’m sure my blood pressure will ultimately thank me too!). As for everyone else who doesn’t participate in the political crap talk, my apologies — not only for the rant but for no longer reading your comments either. Sorry about that.
A good deal from a politician is to make you think you got a good deal when in fact you didn’t…same with used car salesmen…tough to figure out which direction Calvin is going…

In our capitalist society Calvin would keep it all and tell Hobbes his labor was worth nothing.

I love how Calvin’s face trips him up in the final panel.
50-50 is fair, Calvin.
It was an equal partnership after all.
