I love it when one of my cats gets in the “Can’t touch this” mood. I scoop him/her up and cuddle them anyway. My Cody-boy gets all uppity and stalks off afterwards while my Bits-girls gets all bend out of shape and starts hissing and growling. She doesn’t claw or bite but she sure voices her opinion.
this is why you have two or more pets, cats, dogs, ferrets, etc. if one isn’t interested, another one will be (this said by a woman with four dogs in the chair behind her … big chair, small dogs. Oops, three. the husky/shepherd tripodal mix is off eating … LOL.
My hobbit-cat Frodo tries to avoid me petting him…when I am standing up. If I’m lying in bed or exercising on the floor he will come up and nudge for pats.

The boy needs a dog. The cat seems to be too much trouble.

Yes, get a dog. Loving belly rubs and ball chasing.
