Transcript:
Janis: This article says sitting too much might be as bad for you as smoking! Arlo: But I've been walking! I'm more active! That was my resolution! Janis: The article says even exercise might not offset excessive inactivity! Arlo: See?! That's what I hate about self-improvement!

I was in the book store the other day and asked the clerk where the self improvement section was located. She told me not to bother.

I had a job like that, and then I retired. Watch out for quick weight gain when you stop running your keister off all day and become sluggish. Been there, done that.

First it was everything that was bad for you is now good for you. And now it’s also everything good for you is bad for you.

I’ve been looking for a home computer station that allows one to compute standing or sitting. It doesn’t seem to exist.

Janis is being a pain in the arse! Maybe she should go for a walk.

I’ve always been perfect. I just keep re-adjusting the standards to fit. According to my recent adjustment, 35% body fat is the new perfect. LOL

(Skipping over the fact that you killed a pretty funny joke by trying to analyze it…)This is a use of the word “solipsism” that I’ve never seen before. As far as I know, solipsism is the philosophy that one cannot be certain of the existence of anything outside of one’s self. (“I think, therefore I am.”) What does it mean to say that something is “a” solipsism?

I guess that just becoming more active isn’t enough — you have to also become less inactive…

Researcher have now backed off on how bad sitting was supposed to be for you. Obviously, movement is better— but sitting doesn’t “off-set” the benefits of exercise, as was being reported for awhile. That sounded like BS to me from the get-go.
