Lonnie Cavenee: There was a study with prison “volunteers” in the 1930s that involved heroin addicts. They were given “mainline” doses of nicotine, habituated, then back to heroin. They showed withdrawal symptoms. I heard about this in the late 1940s from a doctor who was doing nicotine research (long before the Tobacco Institute claimed no one had done any research on nicotine). If anyone has the citation of this study, I would appreciate it.

Normal humans do not continually ingest peppermint-flavored anything without the addition of substantial quantities of addictive substances.
Unless it’s xmas time, when most of society loses all pretense of sanity anyways.
