I got reassigned (read: demoted) once when the company was bought by a large eastern firm and the a-holes had the nerve to ask me to train my replacement brought in from the corporate headquarters. I sat around doing absolutely nothing for three months as the highest paid senior analyst in the history of both companies until I finally resigned from boredom (they were afraid of a lawsuit should they fire me).
I worked for a company that demoed me and wanted me to train my replacement. I was like forget it, no way , no how. I found another job. Now the punch line is my replacement quit a week after I did and they were left with no one. The machines were WW II era machines and no one knew how to work on them but the man that had trained me (retired) and me. My replacement wanted easy push button machines to work on. Long store made short the mill is now closed down.
