    All of my non-canine pets — gold fish, Easter chick, turtle — were named Herman. Not that it made any difference, as not a single one of them would come when you called him by name.

    we adopted our son at age 4. He had never seen a pet fish in a bowl. He decided to pick it up and carry it around the house. By the time I noticed it was too late. He did not get why I was so upset since he did not speak English. Oh My.

    Never had a pet fish. I did have a pet rock……his name was Rocky. :-D
