Reminds me of a story from my youth – I grew up on a farm, and one night my dad and a family friend were taking a steer into the livestock auction. They got talking so much, that neither noticed until they reached the stockyards that the steer had managed to open the sliding gate on the back of the truck, and escaped somewhere along the way. My dad posted a notice in the paper for the missing animal, and got a call a couple of days later. The caller wanted to know if my dad could identify the animal. My dad replied that the steer probably had a shaved butt from sliding down the highway at 100km/h. Caller replied “Come get him, he’s yours.”

Yes, Rory…A sliding bull is a sad, ugly sight.

Yes, skidding a bull off the runway is very hard on the nose gear.

As cold as it is here today, it would take a LONG time for that maintenance crew to de-ice the runway.

Stan has a red nose. Is he cold, or tipsy?
