Besides grease/frying oil, potato peels clog my garbage disposal up, as well. My husband has had to fix the problem twice: once with the old disposal, then a second time with the new one (no relationship to each other). I only created the problem a second time because I figured the first clog with the old disposal was exactly because of that — it was old, worn out and it just couldn’t handle the job (by the way, this was after we first moved into our house 23 years ago) . So when we had to get a new one after the first one finally died, I tried it again, thinking there now shouldn’t be a problem chopping up all the potato peels up and getting rid of them (after all, isn’t that what a garbage disposal is supposed to do?). When it clogged up a second time, I never did it again after that. We don’t compost so they have to be thrown away in the garbage every time instead. Stupid disposal. Well, at least it works on pretty much everything else food-related anyhow.
From yesterday: The both of you talking about the old Johnny Carson/Jack Webb bit from Johnny’s late-night talk show regarding the “Copper Clapper Caper” reminded me how much I really enjoyed that one and how long it’s been since I’ve last seen it so I just had to know if it was available on YouTube and sure enough, it is! For anyone who’s never seen or heard this before, I think you’ll really enjoy it!

Hasn’t he taught her to press the little button and use the wrench to turn the crank on the bottom of the disposal.

I’m guessing this is how the husbands/fathers in “Adam@Home” and “Daddy’s Home” feel.

Stop putting so much down it at once, then. Better still – try composting.

Never use the garbage disposal to get rid of your Christmas Tree.
