Cathy: Did you walk this morning like we discussed, Mom? Mom: In our relationship, I am the nagger, and you are the naggee, Cathy...I'm not interested in some hip role reversal at this point of my life! I served my time as the naggee with my Mother! If you want to be the nagger, have your own children!! Cathy: Sounds as if someone also didn't eat a good breakfast this morning.

Well, Cathy’s definitely got the “mother” phrases down!

I agree Susan. It’s a bummer passing down a bad mother. As much as I have tried she comes out in me sometimes. As for nagging, nobody likes to be told what to do. Happy weekend all.

I’ve often wondered if I’d had kids, would I have been like my mom? I sure hope not!

And that’s one of the reasons that I wanted kids… so that I could do what I wished my parents would have (or what I wished they didn’t do). I’m not always perfect, but I can at least say that I’ve tried to improve the cycle. Plus, when I see bratty kids, I know that it’s possible to raise good kids who have manners and that I’ve done my part. Good morning, Cathy clan!

My husband’s parenting policy is ALWAYS to ask himself “What would my father do here?” and then do the exact opposite. He’s a great dad, and I would never have even considered having kids with anyone else. BTW, my daughter is exactly like I was at 16, and she’s eight. She’s also adopted. I don’t know what that’s all about.

I admit that I can be a nagger at times but I do it in a loving way. I laugh and play with my children while also being firm. I always wanted children since I was a little girl because I didn’t get to remember life with my mother and father. I was raised by an aunt and uncle who barely hugged me or told me they loved me. I do that daily with my children. Sorry for the sob story, back to your regular programming.-———————————————————————————————————————————-Good afternoon, Cathy clan!

[Sigh] … I’ll just leave it at that.
OK, fine—I’ll toss in an [eye-roll] for good measure.
HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
