Good morning everyone! LOL. My son just brought me into this century by replacing my antique flip phone with an out dated iphone. He upgraded and gave me his old one. I love it.
I have a BlackBerry, and hubby has a flip phone. Son got a Galaxy S4 (is that right? Is that a thing?) for his birthday. Hubby and I are now making plans to steal it. LOL
We finally drug my 77-year-old mother “kicking and screaming” into the 21st century last year with her very first cellphone [a fairly uncomplicated prepaid flip-phone in case of emergencies] and now, she’s got two brand new flat-screen t.v.‘s [one for her bedroom and one for her living room] to replace those really old big heavy “boxes” she’s had for years. She had been wanting to cancel her cable for a while but couldn’t because the t.v.‘s were analog and she needed digital but didn’t want to pay an outrageous amount of money for them. Thanks to some really excellent Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals this year, we were finally able to get her just what she needed at pretty good prices and she was able to “cut the cord” at last. Now all I have to do is teach her NOT to be terrified of the new Kindle e-reader she’s getting for Christmas and that will pretty much have her all set to go!!!!! ;-)
Hi, rgcviper!
Hello and Happy Saturday, fellow “Cathy” fans. Hope everyone’s having a really nice weekend so far.
GrechensMom, once she get used to the Kindle, she’ll love it!! My daughter insisted I get a Kindle instead of buying more paper books. I’ve had my Kindle for 2.5 years and don’t know how I managed without it. Make sure she knows that there are a lot of classics that she can download for free if she likes those kinds of books.

I own and use a smart phone, but overall, simplicity is still the way to go for me. When possible, that is.
HI, MOM. Greetings, “Cathy” Clan.
