I rarely wear a hat. Not only do I have curly hair, which makes “hat head” easier to see, but they don’t look good on me either. I don’t blame you, Cathy.Hello Cathy friends! Lots of tween drama here in the past day or 2. My girls have met some British boys, who they have been playing with since we’ve been here. Yesterday, the 11 year old boy let it slip that he “likes” Jr (who is also 11), then he asked her to “go out” (whatever that means at this age). That was dramatic enough because Jr is fairly introverted and a bit socially awkward (I mean that in a nice way), so she had no idea what to say or do about all the attention. We had a long talk last night and she didn’t sleep well, and eventually told him that she was too nervous about it and would rather just be friends. So then, Lil (who is 9 and much more outgoing and talkative) decides that she is going to ask the boy to go out to a Lego store nearby because she likes him too. I found this out at dinner tonight and about fell out of my chair. So then I had to have the lovely talk with her about how a 9 year old is too young to go out with someone (whatever that means) and how it is awkward that this boy already asked out her sister and her sister still “likes” him. OMG, the drama. I think we’re all good at this point, but my mind is still spinning. Before our move, there was none of this. Very little interest in boys and if there was interest, it was mostly just talk. Lord help me…

Yup—[nut-job] alert, clear as day …
Of course, I’m not one to talk since I wear hats most of the time when I go out. But, at least I take them off when I’m inside again.
HI, MOM. Hello, “Cathy” Clan.

Re: hats. I have to wear a hat when I am outside due to some medications that I take. Most of the times I don’t mind as my hair usually is standing straight up in the morning…I wet it down and crunch it down by putting a cap on…after a walk, I take it off and some of the hair spikes have been tamed! ;)
