Cathy: Nine pairs of black shoes. I remember when I bought each pair and how much it cost...I know every time I wore the shoes...who I was with...what he had for dinner...how much I weighed...and whether it was a good or bad hair day. To get rid of shoes would be to throw out my history...my whole connection to my past...some write their memoirs. I throw mine in the bottom of the closet.

The only black shoes I have is a pair of penny loafers (from LL Bean) and good black tennies by New Balance. Don’t need anything more LOL! ;)

3 pairs of black shoes: sandals, dress shoes, and loafers.

Me too, LadyKat! While I am not a shoe fanatic, I probably have more shoes than I need, mostly because there are so many different social settings, but I wouldn’t keep shoes based on memories. EyerollHello Cathy friends!

I’m surprised she isn’t running to the store to buy them fancy matching, shoe boxes to live in.

Why does Cathy have 9 pairs of black, high-heeled shoes and they all look exactly alike? And if they mean that much to her, why are they all thrown together in one huge, unorganized pile like that on her closet floor?
Maybe I’m one of those rare exceptions but what woman really needs that many pair of black shoes that are all the same?!? I don’t own a pair of black tennis shoes but I’ve got a pair of black loafers, flat sandals, high-heeled sandals and close-toed shoes. Why have anymore pairs of black shoes other than that???
Hi, rgcviper!
summerdog: Ha! Ha! That’s a good one!! Yeah, it’s a wonder all right!!!!! ;-)
lightenup: There we go again, soul sister!!! I, too, have more shoes than I really need [mostly because I no longer need them for an office job] but I’ve held on to them because they still fit and can be worn in many other situations other than for work. The only shoes I’ve ever kept out of sentimentality are the shoes I got married in. Everything else gets thrown away when they’re worn out and no longer useful to me.
Hello and Happy Wednesday, fellow “Cathy” fans. Hope everyone had a really nice day today!!! :-)

HI, MOM. Hello, Clan.

I do keep a pair of high-top tennies with bugs printed on them that I once drove a supervisor nuts with. (We couldn’t wear athletic shoes, so I hung them over my cubicle just to annoy her). Too much fun was had in those shoes to ever part with them. (I think they had a Paloma Picasso signature or something on them too).
