Cathy Classics by Cathy Guisewite for December 30, 2014
Transcript:
Cathy: I begged the salesperson to search the country for this! I can't return it! Mom: I'll return it for you. Cathy: How, Mom?? How can you face her? Mom: I'll return it for you like my mother returned for me and like, one day, you'll return for your child! Cathy: Me? Mom: When it's your turn, you'll be ready and you'll know exactly what to do. Fathers pass the torch. Mothers pass the receipt.

That’s sweet I guess. Weird but sweet. I don’t usually have to return anything after the holidays, I did return a couple of things before Christmas this year but there were no salespeople to avoid. I do most of my shopping online.+Good morning and happy Tuesday Cathy friends.

Whatever happened to Caveat Emptor – All Sales Final?

Well, since my comment seems to have deleted itself the first time …
Y’know, I kinda see comic Cathy’s point here. Of course, surely she knows someone who could use the gift (whatever it is) …
HI, MOM. Good Morning, “Cathy” Clan.

Why does she need to return it? If she still has it she didn’t give it to anyone.

Meanwhile . . .
I really don’t see what the problem is here. Unless it’s a little boutique where the owner is also the only employee, what are the chances that the saleslady who helped Cathy obtain and buy this item originally would just happen to be working there today — especially if it’s a pretty good-sized department store? But if it makes her feel better to let her mother return it for her, then whatever, I guess. But it just seems kind of silly and childish to me for a grown woman to act so embarrassed over a simple gift return. Things like this happen and nobody knows that better than salespeople do.
Hi, rgcviper!
Hello and Happy Tuesday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyone had a really nice day today! :-)

I hate returning things, too. I need Cathy’s Mom to do it. How can I get ahold of her? I’ll give her a percentage of the money back.
