Cathy: Ornaments packed... lights wrapped... it took all day. but Christmas is put away! Christmas is put away, but the other 364 days of last year are still out.
Cathy…just turn around, and go right back out the door! Then, go back in…yup, same old same old. At least the initial shock has been dealt with! That’s more than half the battle! Hi, Cathy fans, hope you’ll have a great weekend. Me, I’ll be putting away the CMAS stuff…and then I just have to file away all of those cross-stitch magazines! ;)
We took our decorations down on New Year’s Day, after Yum Yum had a cat fit and while whirling around the place like a dervish, knocked the tree flying right off the table.
I hate taking the tree down. It’s the sign that the holidays really are over, and January really is here (along with the three-week cold snap that we western Canadians ALWAYS get). It’s still dark super-early, and there’s only distant spring to look forward to. It’s the most depressing time of the year for me.
Anyone else notice she’s drinking a diet soda….lol…..I’m going through all my stuff from the last 2/3 years, anyone want some scrubs? lol…they’re in good shape, just too big for me..lol….happy day to all :)
We won’t be taking our tree down for another week or 2 — it’s a beautiful white pine and they seem to look nice forever — then we’ll stick it out in the backyard (if we get some snow to stick it in) and let the birds use it for awhile. It cuts up easily enough in the spring to put into the yard waste pile out by the curb when they start picking up again.
We’ve had freezing rain all day — now it’s just rain and fog, then it will change to snow tomorrow and we’ll be below zero several nights this week. Can’t say I like it, but at least Downton Abbey starts tomorrow night, daylight is coming back (only 9 weeks to dst) and as long as I can take a walk, I don’t care what it does.

Sometimes I sure wish the stores sold [eye-rolls] in bulk. Because a certain strip here on GoComics could use ‘em …
And that’s exactly why I read.
