This is where I think my husband is an anomaly. He is a guy who loves electronics AND reads the user guides. I think it is one reason why he is so successful at what he does.. he actually understands what to do and doesn’t just “click around”. Meanwhile, I usually just click around.

I bought my kids a couple of cheap tablets. The manual says how to turn it on, and how to pair the keyboard. Anything beyond that involves the old stare and click routine.

My husband is a user guide reader (especially if it’s a highly technical piece of equipment) . . . and what he can’t figure out from the poorly written “Chinese (or whatever)-to-English” directions, he either Googles or looks for helpful instructional YouTube videos to get the rest of the info. he needs. Then I depend on him to show me what to do afterwards. My brain just isn’t wired for this kind of stuff so staring and clicking around without knowing what I’m doing only gets me into trouble!!!!! ;-)
