About the comic though, I’m guessing he didn’t have a chance to talk to her parents because hey, he expected her to say no. Funny how Cathy’s mom is so much happier about the engagement than Cathy seemed to be. Maybe the depictions are misleading. As usual, Cathy’s dad seems to have an accurate handle on the situation though… ;-)
