My sister just puts her dog in a cage when she’s leaving. The dog loves to greet me when I show up, until he remembers that I am there to take his owner away, and he will have to go into the cage. At that moment, he runs and hides under the bed, and has to be dragged out.

I guess my 2 cats are representing both sides of the coin today. After our 3 week vacation, one cat won’t leave us alone, meows to get attention that she missed for 3 weeks and is so happy to see us, while the other one just continues her usual routine or eat/sleep/poop.

We feel bad every time we have to leave our dog behind too, but guilty feelings like this are absolutely ridiculous! :-P

I don’t know,,,,my cats do a real guilt trip on me when I’m leaving for vacation….and they can tell by the suitcases. They also continue the scene when I return for at least a few hours.
