    Any woman who takes her husband’s name is complicit in her own repression. The tradition signals that she is going from being her father’s property to being her husband’s property. Laws may have changed, people may argue that they are doing it for other reasons, but it’s all about the repression of women.

    I’m with saxie5 – pick the name that is easiest to spell. My wife took my name even though I was totally happy with her keeping her maiden name. Happy Good Friday to those who celebrate it – Happy Friday to those that don’t. Just hope you are not shoveling out a foot of snow that fell overnight like we are.
