Good answer, Irving! I, however, am not as impressed… :-)I cook almost every night (only on Saturdays do I take it easy). Sometimes one of my kids complains that they don’t like what I make, and I respond that I’d really like to make something new and interesting, but there never seems to be enough time. Now that my children are older, I tell them to choose a new recipe and we’ll make it together..Hello Cathy friends! Happy Sunday!

I always want to put the grandson’s frozen “fried” chicken nuggets and pizza bites in the oven, but they won’t let me. They microwave them. They say, because it’s faster.

I guess Cathy’s theories and practices about cooking are slightly different. And, of course, they inspire a daily [eye-roll]. Bravo!

Reminds me of a quote I like …

In theory, theory and practice should be the same, but in practice, they’re not.

HI, MOM. Good Sunday Morning, “Cathy” Clan.

I love Vivian and Electra’s cookbooks!

I make a lot of traditional southern recipes passed to my aunt from my grandmother but I also make new recipes and add to some old ones. My kids don’t like everything I make either lightenup, my girls are very picky but they do love to help in the kitchen.

Hello and Happy Sunday Cathy friends! It’s a beautiful day here, hope your day is beautiful too!

I’ve been cooking from scratch my whole life. It’s SO much cheaper – especially now that there are kids to feed! Friday is my night off. :)

I have a cross stitch quote/kit in my sewing room that I plan on doing someday when I’ve got more time because this pretty well sums up my life in the kitchen: “My collection of cookbooks is greater than my cooking.” ;-)

Just kidding! Actually, my cooking’s not that bad but I prefer to bake instead: cakes, pies, cookies, brownies . . . I love to make anything sweet at all. I don’t really have a chance to do it very often, though, because my husband and I always seem to be ona perpetual diet, but if we’re going somewhere and need to takea dish with us, it will almost always be a dessert because that’s what I’m best at making! :-)

    Hi, rgcviper! :-)

QuietStorm27: I love Vivian and Electra’s “cookbooks” too! Meanwhile, it’s a beautiful 82° where I am in southern Indiana and it’s been this way all weekend long. Spring is my absolute favorite time of year! :-)

lightenup: What fun for you and the girls! So…..how do the new recipes turn out when you try them? What’s the best and worst things you’ve ever made? Gosh! This “conversation” reallymakes me miss our dear friends, Aaron and Dr. Billy, so much (more than I usually do, that is) because of all the dessert recipes we used to swap with each other when they were here. I sure hope they’re doing well, wherever they are! ♥

Hello and Happy Sunday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyone is having just as nice a day as QuietStorm27 and I are! :-)

This is kinda how my kitchen is these days….I used to cook all the time and make a salad to go with everything….now there are so many great offerings at our reasonably close specialty market…it’s hard to resist. Teriyaki salmon, vegetarian lasagna, crab cakes, portabella & cheddar fritattas…..all really good!! Then I steam some asparagus, zucchini, spinach, etc with it and voila….dinner.
