I always wear just what I want. Some of my clothes are more than fifteen years old! But I haven’t worn a swimsuit since 1984 – it’s just too cold here.

Who cares what the swimsuit looks like. As long as it covers up all the necessary parts and is as comfortable as possible, that’s all that matters.

Why is Cathy swimsuit shopping yet again when she already did this back in January right before she and Irving got married (in February)? I just now went back and looked at the honeymoon comics and they confirmed what I definitely remembered about that time period: which is that she appeared to be wearing shorts in every single one of them — even when they were sitting on lounge chairs on the beach. Which means that whatever she bought before the wedding is probably not only still in the store bag she brought it home in, but no doubt still has the price tag attached to it too. AACK!!!!! What a silly waste of time and money that is! And Cathy wonders why she’s always “broke” …..

A swimsuit is the absolute dumbest garment ever invented. It doesn’t keep you warm, it doesn’t keep you dry, you only wear it because others think you should, and it looks terrible on anyone who isn’t in great physical shape.
