I would never work while on vacation, kinda defeats the purpose.
Hi Cathy friends! Enjoy the rest of your day!
@lightenup I stopped by early to respond to your post from the other day. It’s so awesome that your girls are adjusting well and enjoying school! Congrats to Lil on the Spirit Award and I’m just in awe of Jr.! My mini-me would never go to school early to study an optional language but my baby girl would get along great with her…she loves Harry Potter! She’s on the 6th book and can’t wait to read the 7th.
Oh and I’m not quite ready. We went school shopping and everything but I’m not ready for the struggles. My mini-me is like the opposite of Jr. She is not a morning person and does not like school at all, but I’m hoping she will find a sport or hobby that will make it more enjoyable this year.
My baby girl is a happy little ball of energy most of the time but bullies try to change that which puts me in mama bear mode. I’m just really hoping this year will be better.
Sadly, my husband works from everywhere. Even when we are on vacation, he is on conference calls or checking his email. And I don’t think it’s because he’s afraid of losing his job, like some people are. I think it’s because he likes to be involved with things, making sure they get done right, solving problems, etc. These qualities have made him successful, but they have also made him stressed. I guess it’s a choice he has made..Hi Cathy clan! QuietStorm, I think our kids would get along so well!! For Jr, I think one of the things that is helping her do all these things is that she is so excited to be back where everything is that she loves. So a break was really good for her, whether she knows it or not. I think if we had stayed, she would have been burned out with the “same old stuff”..I’m sorry that your baby girl is being bullied!! Is it the same kids and is there any way to avoid them? Is there any way for her to get involved with a different group and avoid those kids? I know sometimes it is so hard to break a cycle once it has started. I just want to come there and give them a little taste of their own medicine, and then give your daughter a hug!! I really hope a new school year will be a new start for her. I forgot, what grade will she be starting? 6th, I think. If so, will it be a new school? I hope so. I think that helps. Plus it’s such a hard age. For some reason, some kids think they have to be mean to others to seem more “grown-up” or popular, and their parents don’t see this behavior and put a stop to it.Well, I hope she is enjoying her last days of summer break, and i hope she has a fantastic beginning of school next week!!

To keep it simple? Yes! Twenty people took their vacations this week.
Leave it to Cathy, our favorite comic strip nut-job, to inspire the [eye-roll].
HI, MOM. Greetings, Clan.
