I often find myself hoping that I’ll be a good MIL when the time comes. And then I read this comic, and Dear Prudence over on Slate, and I know for a fact that I’ll be better than a whole lot of ’em.
Why is Irving’s mother so surprised — not to mention critical — regarding Cathy needing more closet space? It’s a well-known fact that a majority of women have more clothes than men; there-fore, we need more space to store them than they do. It’s just as simple as that!
Hi, rgcviper! :-)
Hello and Happy Tuesday, fellow Cathy fans. The new changes that G.C. has suddenly made without warning is a real bummer!
The two biggest sledgehammer decisions they made in order to control the “spamming” (or so they say) is a 500 character-limit (which I bumped into with my previous comment so I had to majorly rework it in order to make it fit) and they’re no longer allowing you to post pictures either (not something I do too terribly often, but often enough that it’s going to be annoying from now on when I want to and can’t). As I said. It’s a real bummer alright! :-(
HI, MOM. How’d you put the line breaks in your comment? When I insert the previous symbol, or < p > with no spaces, it’s like I just hit Enter with no blank line. Thanks.
I think I can now see the merits of Cathy’s Mom…certainly over Irving’s Mom. I fail to see how limiting folks to bold and italics is going to fight off abuse from spammers…nor will limiting comments size. Most people manage to get insulting within their first sentence if that’s what they plan to do.

And so the Mother-in-Law Wars begin!

We have kind of an extreme situation: my mother is OVERLY involved, while my husband’s isn’t involved at all.

Thank goodness! A mother who’s actually trying to help! For now, anyway. I guess we should see how it goes …
