I consider my pets part of the family and love them dearly, but I don’t think I would tell other people that I’m their “Mommy”. That’s a bit strange…
Hello Cathy friends! Speaking of pets, one of mine kept me up half the night, and I am extra tired and grumpy. It’s going to be quite the struggle. I hope you have a better Tuesday than I’m having! :-)
My dog knows “go to Daddy” means I want her to go to my father, and I can ask “is it Mama?” if she’s upset about something (Mom’s severely disabled). Use of the names within the family is one thing. She wouldn’t be with me if she wasn’t my dog, and I don’t use the third person in public like I might at home, where the -y version of my name is only used when someone is talking about me to the dogs or Mom’s vocabulary has gone back in time
We use Mommy & Daddy…don’t seem to have a problem with it around here. When my parents were alive, I could tell one of the cats that we were going to Grandma’s and she would go jump in the car if the window was open. However, we do all realize that we are really staff because they are cats.

I’m with Irving on this one. People who call themselves their pets’ “mommy” are nauseating.

I. too, agree with Irving. Back when we still had our cat, there is no way I was his ‘daddy’, I knew I was his slave.
frightenup I hope your day gets better – and you maybe even get time for a quick nap to catch up on sleep.
