My husband & I enjoy going grocery shopping together. As a matter of fact, so do our daughters. The 4 of us have a lot of fun doing it.

Friday night is grocery night for hubby and me – also a sort of “date” night. But we leave the kids at home. I would NEVER go grocery shopping with my kids!

Well, that’s the truth, Cathy!! :-D When my husband goes to the store (which isn’t often), I’ll give him a list. If he wants to get something extra, that’s fine. No need to be crazy about it, although this is our favorite whack-a-doodle!

Hello Cathy friends! Thank you all for the nice congratulations for Jr! :-) I forgot to mention that one of the STEM programs that she got into was the same high school that the 22 year old woman, Tierra Guinn, (who is a student at MIT with a 5.0 and already works for NASA - some are comparing her to the women in Hidden Figures) went to. (I’ll have to show Jr Katherine Johnson’s appearance at the Oscars, hendelca! :)) I’m not saying Jr is as crazy smart as Tierra, but the high school is a fantastic program that really prepares the kids for the future.

Glad you’re back, hendelca and lindz.coop! That’s a shame about the elementary school programs — I think music is really important. I hope your fundraising was successful though! I hope you had a nice, relaxing vacation, lindz.coop!

And this is why my husband does the grocery shopping by himself because I’m just as likely to bring home chips, cookies and ice cream as Cathy is. But in this house, we still eat bread, rolls, muffins and pasta — all within moderation, of course. As for the milk, it absolutely has to be 2% though, because anything less just tastes too gross and watered-down for us.

    Hi, rgcviper! :-)

Hi, lightenup! Hope your cat is doing well these days and many congrats to Jr. on being accepted to not one, but TWO, high school STEM programs. That’s absolutely amazing! Has she chosen which one she’s going to attend yet? If not, how long has she got before she has to make her decision? Another congrats on her and her team going to state for their Odyssey of the Mind competition, as well. What a smart girl she is and what a proud Momma I know you are! :-)

(P.S.: I’ll leave you a separate message on “our” board to answer your questions when I get an opportunity, which will hopefully be soon.)

Hello and Happy Monday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyone had a great day today! I’ve really missed you guys and it’s so nice being back home again ….. where the bed is my own, I get to watch the t.v. shows I want to watch and the internet works very dependably (at least most of the time anyhow!) ;-)

P.S.: Thanks to everyone for their well-wishes regarding our family’s dog. She made an amazingly-quick turnaround with that emergency trip to the vet right before our trip and everything has been absolutely wonderful with her health-wise ever since, which we are most truly thankful for! :-)

LIGHTENUP Thanks…actually we were in South Carolina…not too far from you, I suppose. The driving was a bit hectic, but it was good to see my cousins who just lost their mother in December….she was my last “blood-kin” aunt and a total sweetie!! I have one left who is an in-law, but she is still my sweet auntie too. Mom…I know exactly what you mean about getting back home…we drove straight through from Rock Hill because we wanted to dodge the snow coming across the I-80 and because I just didn’t want to spend another night in a hotel. Got home at 2:30 AM but it was worth it.

I was gonna say, lightenup [in response to the first panel] … Shopping for our favorite Whack-A-Doodle? Good luck with that, Irving. [smile]

HI, MOM, and welcome back! Hello, “Cathy” Clan.
