It would be an absolute dream come true if my husband wanted to take over my house cleaning duties and I wouldn’t give a rat’s patootie how he did it. I’m not a really huge fan of that particular weekly chore anyhow so as long as I didn’t have to do it anymore, I wouldn’t dream of being the least bit picky or critical about the way he did it! ;-)

Hi, rgcviper! :-)
Hello and Happy Friday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyone has/had a really great day today! :-)
Biggest mistake anyone makes when soliciting help from their spouse, is to try to micromanage that help after it’s offered. (My husband and I don’t fold towels the same way. Instead of complaining, I just smile and say thanks.)
Hi Mom! I agree, my person (I’m not sure how to define what we are right now) is ridiculously messy and takes forever to clean up after himself. I usually get fed up and do it or the kids do, I’d give anything for him to volunteer to clean no matter how he does it. I can see our Cathy complaining that he never does anything.
I gave up trying to help with the cleaning. It seems I never did it well enough. My wife always felt she had to do it over. My daughters had the same complaint and stopped helping as well. I have suggested hiring a cleaning person several times but my wife would want to clean the whole house first before the cleaner arrived. No sense in that! Oh there is one job I have to do and that is vacuum up the needles from the tree before and after Christmas. That does not require a do-over since it is easy to see that there are no needles left on the carpet and floor.
Bit of bad/good news yesterday. It seems the immune disorder that tried to kill me 4 years ago is trying again with a mild flareup. The good news is that is it mild and we caught it early so just predisone and azathioprine (immune suppressant) and I don’t have to have any chemo treatments this time around. Plus I am only suffering a little energy loss and my eyes are well enough to still be able to work at the computer and read my books. If you have to have a health problem, being able to go through an almost normal day is a good thing.
Well, that’s a bit daunting and outdated! She wants him to do laundry with lye and using a washboard, the way her great-grandmother did? Or take the rugs out back and beat them, instead of using a vacuum? ;-)
Hello Cathy clan! Happy Friday! Quanyindove, Jr saw Katherine Johnson at the Oscars. So wonderful! Snowbunny, how’s the Whole30 challenge going? I know of people who did that, and while it was difficult in the beginning, thought the end result was worth it. hendelca, I’m so sorry to hear that you’re having health troubles again. :-( I’m glad you caught it early and it’s just a mild flareup though! Sis, I left a response on our usual spot.
Hendelca…..so sorry that you are having a flare up!! I hope the treatments knock it out and it is indeed good news that you don’t have to do chemo!! Best wishes for a fast recovery. As for Cathy….my hubby does the vacuuming…I do most of the rest. He does clean up after dinner…but one little problem troubles me…he often can’t remember whether the dishes in the dishwasher are clean or not (and we have a magnet that moves up or down to signal it, but he forgets to move it). So, I often find myself rewashing the dishes because he is at work, and I can’t be sure. I guess it’s a small price to pay.

Hendelca-so sorry to hear, but yes, no chemo is a good thing for sure! Hope you are able to go through many normal days as possible. Namaste. /\_/\

Or, she could appreciate the fact that he offered to clean the house in the first place.
But then we wouldn’t have our daily [eye-roll], would we? AACK!
HI, MOM. Happy Friday, Clan.
