Hello and Happy Monday, fellow Cathy fans and friends! Just wanted to make a little announcement!
As most of you may know (although I haven’t mentioned it in a while), my husband and I have been house-hunting for a little over 2 years now. It’s been a long, slow and painfully frustrating process but I’m happy and excited to say that after all this time, we’ve finally found our new home! It’s not exactly “Barbie’s Dream House” but with a lot of sweat equity, we think we can get it pretty darn close! ;-)
We’ll be getting the home inspection done sometime this week and barring no unpleasant surprises that will derail the whole deal, the closing (and move-in date) has been scheduled for the first of May — 7 weeks from today.
Which brings me to the other part of this announcement …..
We’re not exactly moving across town where we live in southern Indiana. The house is located 500 miles away in the pretty state of Georgia where we’ll finally be living closer to our daughter and most of my husband’s family. Given that we’ve got a lot of work to do around here to fix up and clean out a house we’ve been living in for the past 28 years in preparation for the big day, I’m afraid that any appearances I make around “Cathy’s Corner” during that time period will be sporadic at best and once the move is made, I won’t be around at all for maybe 2 or 3 months after that while we fix up our part of the house, get the unfinished terrace level finished and ready for my mother to live in, get our house and her condo sold, and get her moved, as well.
I just wanted to let everyone here know what’s getting ready to happen in my personal life so that when I completely disappear for a while, nobody will wonder and worry about me like we so often do with our dear friends, Aaron and Billy. But once we’ve gotten everyone settled into a new home and routine, I’ll be back with you all again full-time! :-)
Love to you all and I’ll be back as soon as I can! ♥
Congratulations, GretchensMom!!! What an exciting and busy time for you guys! Best of luck with the inspection and the renovations! We totally understand that we won’t be hearing from you much, but I hope you can stop by occasionally to update us on the status of things. It’s a loss for Indiana, but welcome to Georgia! It’s nice here, but I hope the humidity isn’t too much for you. Thank goodness for the invention of air conditioning! Good luck with all the things you’ll need to get done and I hope everything goes smoothly! Hugs!
Gretchen’s Mom Congratulations on the new house. I hope the inspection goes well and you can get moved in shortly after the closing date. Have fun with the fixing up too. I am sure all of us here in the ‘Clan’ wish you all the best with this big move.
Congrats, GretchensMom!!! It’s great that you can be closer to your daughter (Gretchen?) and the rest of your family. Georgia is a great state (most of the time) and it is abnormally cold right now. It is very humid and hot during the summer but there is of course many solutions to that. It is a shame we won’t be hearing from you as much as you are an active part of the Cathy community but I’m sure it’s for the better. As for Irving… he needs some work.
I’ll ignore Irving for now and send a HUGE congratulations to Gretchen’s Mom! I’m so happy for you and your family and it sounds like it was well worth the wait! Good luck with the inspection and have fun getting the house just how you want it. :-)
Rolling the eyes? Call any of us here in “Cathy-Land” …
HI, MOM, and congratulations on your big news! We’ll miss you here on our pages, but I wish you the best of luck. As others have said, stop by to “see” us sometime.
