LOL! My office isn’t quite this bad, we keep it in the low 70s, but I still usually wear a sweater because of the chill of the AC. I don’t mind. Makes me forget that it’s 100 degrees outside.

Now retired. Same problem at home. Oh well, at least I can knit all year round and the sweaters and shawls are comfy.

Yes, I remember those days. The men are too hot because …they are wearing undershirts, long sleeves and jackets. And women want to enjoy “summer wear” (sleeveless, light-weight clothing, bare legs). How about allowing men to wear short sleeves, no ties nor jackets? Maybe the office could save some energy and not make the a/c so cold!

My old office had terrible air control. My company had an “inner office” in an old mill building, but it was on the same thermostat as most of the “outer” offices. As a result, our office was always about 60 degrees in the summer and over 80 in the winter (and I’m not exaggerating). Thankfully, we have since moved and have our own temperature control in our own office. Now, it’s heavenly.

OK—my sense of clothing balance got all thrown off just now. I think I shivered while reading, too …
HI, MOM. Happy Sunday, “Cathy” Clan.

Mix this in with the message that we have to conserve energy that we hear all the time now – never could understand why I should turn up the temperature so my home air conditioner does not come one so often when one office building in the city keeps their temp so low that employees (my daughter is one of them) has a ceramic heater running under their desk all summer. That one building probably uses more electricity to cool the building for one day than I use for the entire year. Makes my conservation effort kind of meaningless.
Another beautiful summer day today – the 5th in a row although we had a little sprinkle of rain yesterday evening. Hope everyone else in the Clan is having a good day too.

Totally agree, hendelca! I never understood why businesses and offices keep the temperatures so low, which makes everyone cold because we’re all dressed for the weather (i.e. summer clothing). I keep our home AC at a reasonable temperature, just enough to keep the humidity and temperature at a reasonable level.
Hello Cathy friends! Happy Sunday!

Luckily the office where I do my internship is usually on 70. We have mostly female workers and each separate section of the building has it’s own controls.
Hello and Happy Sunday Cathy friends! Hendelca I’m so happy that you’ve had your last treatment and will be able to build up your energy! Keep hanging in there Mom! Happy belated birthday Lil! Lightenup my baby girl turned 12 in March, they grow up so fast!

I remember going to college in the desert many years ago. Temps would be over 100 degrees in early summer but I would carry a sweater with me to class because the temp inside was about 65 degrees. My nose would start running as soon as I walked into the classroom!

And stores and restaurants….I nearly froze Friday night when I tried to go out for desert at a local restaurant. I had to leave because it was so cold and I forgot to bring a sweater. I keep my house around 76-78 and we are perfectly comfortable.

In all fairness, if the office is too cold, you can always put on a sweater or a jacket, but if it’s too hot, there’s only so much you can take off and still stay at work.
