Bold, daring, eye-popping print stockings were all the rage in the 1960’s, too.The trick was getting stockings long enough that garters didn’t show beneath those teeny little mini-skirts we wore.
They still make and sell pantyhose, Cathy. Just because something like this is the current fashion, that doesn’t mean you have to wear it — especially if you don’t like their look or feel. I don’t wear dresses as much as I used to but when I do, if I put on one that’s any shorter than a maxi, I always wear pantyhose with it because at my age, I simply can’t pull off the bare-leg look anymore like I could when I was younger (a lot younger, I might add!). When it comes to something like this, you’ve got to go with what you like, what looks good on you and what feels the most comfortable to wear ….. even if it’s not what’s currently “in vogue” right now (according to the so-called “fashion industry”).

Hi, rgcviper! :-)
QuietStorm27: Hope everything’s been going well with your new job! :-)
lightenup, lindz.coop & hendelca: Glad you all had really great October anniversaries. Seems like I’m the “odd woman out” here by having one in December instead! ;-)
.
Hello and Happy Tuesday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyone had a really nice day today! :-)
Thanks, Mom….I’m sure you’ll have a fun anniversary in December too!! I still can pull off the bare legged look…tho I really don’t like bare feet in shoes so I use those little sockettes (or whatever they’re called) in the summertime. I haven’t worn pantyhose in many years…preferring long skirts and socks. There are some really classy looking socks that do look professional with the right shoe and a long skirt. I also never wear heels.

God, I hated garter belts, girdles, etc. It was one of those things a young girl had to master. Kind of like “training bras”. : )

I miss pantyhose too. I HATE the whole bare-foot-in-heels thing.

Well, those leggings are colorful. No use worrying about being lost in a crowd while wearing those babies …
