Voice (From phone): Were you satisfied? Were you happy about how we asked if you were satisfied? Were you ok with how we asked if you were happy about how we asked if you were satisfied? Will you be happier when the "feedback era" is over? Hello. So that we may better serve you in the future, please take a moment to rate your recent encounter with our customer care representative. Using the keypad on your touchtone phone, press "4" for excellent, "3" for good, "2" for fair and "1" for poor. Was your representative cheerful? Courteous? Helpful? How eager would you be to seek advice from this representative again? Press "3" for extremely, "2" for very, "1" for not so much. Thank you. If you'd like to add a brief voice comment, please do so after the tone. Cathy: Normal mothers don't make their children take phone surveys, mom!! Voice (from phone): Normal children call their mothers on Sunday morning.

Those surveys never ask the question I would really like to answer. ‘Were you able to easily understand your representative?’ I don’t care about the nationality or ethnicity of the person trying to help me, if I can’t understand the conversation it is not helpful. Period.

vaughnri2003 is right. If you listen to a person with a heavy accent on the phone, it is harder to interpret than seeing them and listening in person.

I see people walk around with their phone just glued to their ear. I personally, hate talking on the phone. Except when I was a teen, and laid UNDER the desk at home talking on the phone. Party line, too. Neighbor always breaking in to tell me to get off the line, they needed to make a call.

I would definitely like the “feedback era” to be over…now I’m supposed to “rate my surgery experience”…how should I know, I wasn’t conscious.
